WORKSHOPS & PRESENTATIONS

I enjoy presenting workshops that combine live performance, storytelling and practical demonstrations of composition and arranging.

Rather than presenting a conventional lecture on jazz, I would like to invite participants into the creative process itself.

Topics include:

The Art of Listening: What Jazz Can Teach Us About Leadership

From Melody to Orchestra – How a Jazz Composition Comes to Life

Improvisation Beyond Music

Large Ensemble Arranging

Composition as Problem Solving

Improvisation Beyond Music

Building a Creative Voice Through Collaboration

Leading Without Controlling: Lessons from Conducting and Directing a Jazz Ensemble

Brazilian Music and Contemporary Jazz: Finding Identity Through Composition

The workshops combine storytelling, musical examples, score excerpts, recorded performances and practical demonstrations of how an original composition evolves from a simple melodic idea into a fully orchestrated performance.

My aim is not simply to discuss music, but to encourage participants to think differently about creativity, collaboration and lifelong learning.

These presentations are suitable for universities, music schools, festivals and corporate audiences.
