Jazz Improvisation for All Instruments

I teach jazz improvisation to musicians of every instrument, including saxophone, trumpet, trombone, piano, bass, flute, violin, clarinet, souzaphone and virtually any melodic instrument.

The concepts of melody, harmony, rhythm, phrasing and musical storytelling are universal. Once you understand them, you'll be able to improvise with confidence in jazz, blues, rock, funk, latin music, fusion, pop and many other musical styles.

Rather than overwhelming students with endless scales and theory, I focus on helping you understand why music works. My aim is to make improvisation feel natural, expressive and enjoyable. Whether your dream is to solo over jazz standards, jam confidently with friends or simply become a more creative musician, I'll help you get there.

Studio & Fees

Lessons take place in my private, fully equipped studio in the M20 area of Manchester, conveniently located for students from Didsbury, Chorlton, Stockport and the surrounding areas.

The studio is 100% acoustically insulated, providing a comfortable, quiet and professional environment where you can learn without distractions.

One-to-one lessons: £30 per hour
